Here are 3 simple prompting tricks you can use to help get better results from using ChatGPT

I use these every single day, especially the 2nd trick

1. Task

What is the task? Tell ChatGPT exactly what you want it to do

Tips:

• Use action words like “list” or “explain”

• For voice-to-text: Use “Windows+H” on Windows or double-tap “Fn” on Mac

Example:

Draft an article intro about AI in business

2. Context

Adding context is one of the biggest things you can do to get better responses

Provide ChatGPT with exactly what it is you are trying to do. It may even offer a different solution that you would have never thought was possible

Tips:

• Again, using voice to text for this is efficient, because you can explain your entire situation like you are in a phone call with a coach or a friend

Example:

I'm using Beehiiv's automation for my newsletter. I've introduced a 'ChatGPT Pro Pack' lead magnet. New subscribers get this without a hitch, but current subscribers who sign up for the Pro Pack aren't receiving it. I want all sign-ups, new or existing, to get this lead magnet email. How can I set this up with Beehiiv's tools?

3. Persona

You can roleplay with ChatGPT, but try not to get too steamy with it

By this I mean you can tell ChatGPT to pretend to be a role

Tips:

• Think roles like "business consultant" or "content strategist"

• If you want to be more specific and specify the type of business consultant you are looking for, provide additional details about the role you have in mind. Copy/paste the extra context from an outside source

Example:

I'd like you to pretend to be a digital marketing consultant for a startup e-commerce brand.

Here's more information on the consultant I'd like you to roleplay as: **INSERT INFO HERE**
