To be a content creator, the best way to gain followers and have the largest presence is not to target everybody but to target a single individual persona.

Sometimes this isn’t easy to do yourself, and can take hours to brainstorm while writing it down on a piece of paper.

Luckily as a content creator myself, I’ve put together an easy way to use ChatGPT effectively and efficiently to create a custom persona and demographic for your ideal target customer/viewer.

Let’s get into it!

Directions:

1. List out 3 or more topics in your niche you make content and sell products around

2. Copy and paste the prompt below into ChatGPT and fill in the variable with that list.

Variables to fill out:

1. [INSERT TOPICS] - example: I used a list that looked like this:

   Optimizing your work life with AI/ChatGPT
   Creating content with AI
   Self-Improvement
   Reaching Goals
   Content Ideas

Here is the prompt to use below:

I want you to be my marketing consultant and social media expert. I want you to create a persona. This will be my ideal audience. This person is the best fit for my content that I create on Instagram Shorts, TikTok, and YouTube Shorts. Please focus on their values, interests, their pain points, what would be valuable and useful to them. My content is meant to bring the upmost value to them and have them leaving my video with knowledge and actionable steps to get what they want. Let me know anything else that would be relevant to them.

The topics I'd like to speak about:

When I insert the example topics above into this prompt in ChatGPT, I get a specified response of an exact person, with a name, interests, values, pain points, and exactly what that person is looking for.

Now remember that ChatGPT is a form of Generative AI, and it will not give you the same response every time, and also learns from feedback continually throughout your “Conversation” if you will.

Understanding a person’s pain points is crucial to better targeting with your content and selling valuable products. Sometimes understanding is easier with more context, so I went more in-depth:

I wanted to know what this person’s home life was as well to get a little more in-depth understanding as to what is really useful to them.

I asked ChatGPT to describe their living situation and work life in order to get a better understanding, and this is what I got:

This is a simple example of expanding on your ideal customer. If you want more knowledge and understanding of a certain aspect of their life, it’s up to you to just ask ChatGPT.
